VNA racking, or very narrow aisle racking, is useful when a warehouse wants to keep pallet access while reducing aisle width. It is a racking and handling-equipment decision, not just a rack choice.

How VNA racking works

VNA racking usually uses a selective-style pallet racking layout with much narrower aisles. The aisle reduction is made possible by specialist VNA trucks, turret trucks or narrow-aisle handling equipment that can pick or place pallets without the same turning space as a counterbalance forklift.

This keeps access to many pallet locations while recovering floor area that would otherwise be used as wide forklift aisles.
