What should you check on the bollard body?
Compare the bollard with its known pre-impact condition where records or photographs are available. Look for leaning, twisting, splitting, gouging, a damaged cover, visible separation or any other change. If a flexible post appears to have returned toward its original position, that appearance alone does not establish the condition of the complete system.
Keep the area controlled and ask the manufacturer or a competent assessor when visible damage exists, the model or installation history is uncertain, or the post no longer sits as expected.
How should you inspect the base, anchors and concrete?
Without dismantling anything, look for a shifted baseplate, a damaged cover, missing or broken hardware, separation, rotation or other visible movement. Inspect the surrounding floor for new cracks, chipping, spalling or a change around the fixing area.

Inspect the asset behind or beside the bollard for secondary contact, movement, loosened parts or visible damage. The protected asset may be racking, machinery, a door frame, a wall, a column, an electrical cabinet or another installation; each may require its own competent assessment.
Also check whether the usable route or space around the protection has changed. If a bollard, asset, load or nearby equipment now sits differently, divert traffic until the site team has reviewed the arrangement against the actual vehicle path, load, approach and manufacturer information.
